We allocate generous amounts of disk storage space for your use. To give you an idea of how much space you will need, you can store 300 optimised web pages (including graphics) within 10 Mb. Obviously sites utilising databases and the like will require more space.

If you are looking to register a .com, .net or .org domain name then you may be interested to know that we can offer you approximately 50% discount on the regular InterNIC registration fees.
If you would prefer to use a different domain name registrar such as Network Solutions then you are most welcome to do that. Please note though that you would then need to arrange the registration and transfer of your domain name yourself, although we would provide you with the necessary technical information (your name server details) when we send you your account details.

You get at least five fully featured email accounts with your site (depending on which hosting package you choose). Each email account will have its own address under your domain (e.g. you@yourname.com). If you like, you can setup your account to have your email forwarded to another email account anywhere on the web.

All you need to do is signup with OemMail.com. They will then provide you with information about setting up your free web-based email service. OemMail.com will also give you details of the changes we need to make to your site's mail configuration so that you can use their free web-based email service to setup unlimited email addresses @you.com. You simply pass that information on to us and we will make the appropriate DNS changes for free. It's a simple process. Please note that if you use the unlimited email account system from OemMail.com then all your mail will be handled by the OemMail.com servers. That means that your POP accounts on our servers will no longer be active. Similarly, your email aliases, forwarding instructions and autoresponders will cease to operate. Autoresponders are a great marketinmarketing tool and can save you time answering common questions. You can set up an autoresponder so that when a message is sent to, say, info@yourname.com, then your pre-written message is automatically returned to the sender. All our hosting packages allow you to set up an unlimited number of autoresponders.

You can choose to forward your email to a different email account anywhere on the web. This is easily achieved through a web-based interface.

We set up your main email account so that any mail sent to an unrecognised user at your domain is delivered to your main email address. This can be very useful because it means you can use many different email aliases without actually having to set them up explicitly. You can also give any email account an unlimited number of email aliases so that when mail is sent to, say, an_alias@yourname.com then you will receive the email at, say, colleague@yourname.com (a real mailbox).

Majordomo is a program which automates the management of Internet mailing lists. Commands are sent to Majordomo via electronic mail to handle all aspects of list maintenance. Once a list is set up, virtually all operations can be performed remotely, requiring no intervention from the postmaster of the list site.

We set you up with a CGI Bin and provide a set of useful and effective scripts for you. Many hosting companies claim to provide "preinstalled" scripts but they do not actually configure them for you, so they are not ready to use. We configure your CGI scripts so that you don't need to know any CGI in order to use them. The scripts we provide include WWWBoard, Free For All Links Page, Simple Search, Guestbook, a graphical page counter, and FormMail (to email you the results when someone fills out a form).

You will have access to your site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week so you can work on your site whenever you want to.

You can use Telnet to log in to your site and access the Unix prompt. From there, you can issue pretty much any Unix (Linux) command. Telnet is not an essential tool for running a web site, but it can be very useful, particularly if you intend to write and/or install your own CGI scripts - the debugging information you can get by running your script locally through Telnet can be invaluable. Telnet can also be useful for many other tasks (e.g. file management) but most of the common ones can be performed through FTP software or the Oznet One Control Panel.

Yes. We update your statistics daily. The report includes information about visitors, page views, file accesses, referrers, browsers used by your visitors, platforms used by your visitors, visitors' hosts, visitors' top-level domains, and the most common entry and exit pages. These reports are among the most detailed and useful around, but you will also have access to your raw log files in case you want to examine the data further.

A full log analysis enables AWStats to show you the following information:

Server side includes are a neat and simple way of repeating blocks of HTML code in different web pages. The file containing the repetitive HTML code can be included in any page(s) you like with only one line of HTML code (a server side include statement).

Our servers support Perl, PHP, C, C++, ASP *, Python and Java applets (though not Java servlets).

ASP
Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP) is a server-side scripting environment that you can use to create and run dynamic, interactive web server applications. With ASP, you can combine HTML pages and script commands to create interactive web pages or powerful web-based applications, which are easy to develop and modify.

You can choose to have ASP support with your hosting account for a low, one-off fee. Please note that you will only be able to choose ASP with your initial account setup, as this can not be added at a later date.

Powerful alternatives to ASP, such as PHP and Perl, are available with all hosting accounts free of charge. Therefore if you do not currently use ASP we highly recommend using one of these other scripting languages instead.

You can restrict access to any directory on your site so that visitors are prompted for a user name and password in order to access any files in the directory.

When a visitor to your site tries to access a page that does not exist, they will usually receive Apache's default Error 404: File Not Found message. If you prefer you can set up your account so that your own customized 'missing document' page is displayed instead, perhaps with a link to your home page (or whatever you like).

An excellent database package. Please note that while we provide MySQL access to customers using our Corporate Giant hosting package, we do not provide support for this package. For further information about MySQL, please refer to the MySQL Home Page.
There is maximum of 1 MySQL database (but with unlimited tables) per hosting account.

GPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is an OpenPGP compliant application which enables you to encrypt data on your web site. It is compatible with PGP 5.x and has very similar functionality. If your site comes with secure server access, we will setup GPG for you for free.

If you intend to receive sensitive information over the web, SSL access alone does not guarantee the safety of your data. SSL keeps the information safe as it travels to your web site, but does not provide any protection once the data arrives. GPG can be used to immediately encrypt the data when it arrives at your web site - you only decrypt it once you have downloaded it to your hard drive. That gives you peace of mind knowing that the information your customers enter into your secure form will be safe all the way across the web.

We install a special version of FormMail on your secure server so that, when you receive sensitive information via your secure server, you can have the information immediately encrypted and mailed to you in encrypted form. Once you have retrieved your mail from the server, it can be easily and safely decrypted on your hard drive using your PGP or GPG software.
